Pensive, paper and mosaic

With sore fingers, about 20 dead blades, burning eyes and after a few days of work I have finished my new piece. She is after a sketch that I did rapidly (see below).
When I just started I thought it will be a breeze, an easy one... Well... I was VERY wrong. Those endless curves and delicate lines prove to be a hard task.

In September 2010 I started to do something similar in mosaics. I know a few mosaic artists that would have succeeded to pull the sketch character into mosaic, but I failed to do so.
Instead I managed to create a very nice mosaic sculpture which I liked a lot but had nothing to do with the sketch it was based on, needless to mention that it took me almost a month to complete it.
